  • Provides term insurance protection on any unborn child, natural child, step child, or legally adopted child under age 17. Insurability begins at child's age of 14 days. The insured parent must be between the ages of 20 and 55 (up to age 50 for the 30 year term).
  • Available at an additional premium. One premium amount covers ALL eligible children.
  • Minimum insurance amount of $1,000, not to exceed the insurance amount held by the base insured. Maximum insurance amount determined by the underwriter.
  • The insurance amount is the same for ALL children.
  • Child rider is underwritten, and a Family/Child Rider application is needed (handled by Minnesota Life).
  • Child rider coverage remains active and the premium is waved when the insured parent is on waiver for disability.
  • Coverage under this rider terminates at youngest child's age 25.
  • May be converted to a single life permanent product at or before child's age 25.
  • Child rider may be added (or removed) after the policy is issued.
  • Coverage amount of rider may not be changed after the base insured's policy is issued.
